I was listening to an interview of Fran Lebowitz on Fresh Air on NPR, and Lebowitz mentioned that prior to his political aspirations, the current president was an utter joke in New York and New Jersey, and I yelled, “I know, right!” I was working in the homebuilding and beverage industries in that place and time, and nobody of means took him seriously.
That’s why these years have been completely surreal to me. You may have noticed that all the people who claim he’s an astute businessman are not themselves astute businesspeople.
The assertion was made just yesterday by a family member who probably needs serious therapy. For this a multiple other reasons.
